Manual dampers
The traditional system of balancing airflow; these are manual dampers installed inside the duct work and adjusted once--usually by the installing HVAC contractor. Proper adjustment ensures the same amount of air is distributed throughout the home.
A hardwired system that uses a centralized controller and motorized dampers, which are installed inside the duct work. The damper blades position automatically, ensuring precise temperature control to different areas inside the home. Each zone requires a separate thermostat.
The Ecovent system is a wireless, drop-in solution that modulates register openings in each room to control airflow. Unlike manual or motorized dampers, no duct work modifications are required. The system is controlled by a wireless controller and phone application.

Averaging Thermostats
One way to help eliminate noticeable temperature differences is to use a more advanced thermostat. The Ecobee line can be paired with multiple, remote (Bluetooth) sensors that are placed throughout the home. The thermostat uses these sensors to establish a more stable temperature profile for the HVAC system.
